Tips For Keeping the Clutter Under Control

Tips For Keeping the Clutter Under Control

Easter has come and gone for this year. I enjoyed spending time with family and of course I ate far too much chocolate. It was also our wedding anniversary – 7 years! Paul and I enjoyed some time together … catching a movie and dinner.  I managed to squeeze in a few projects, which I hope to show you all in the coming weeks. This weekend also marked the end of the 40 bags in 40 days decuttering challenge … so what next? As a final wrap up I thought I would share my tips for keeping the clutter under control … after the challenge ends. Continue reading

How to Makeover a Pine Bookcase

How to Makeover a Pine Bookcase

I once read that when painting furniture, you should choose decent pieces to begin with. Get Back on Track … for Week 5 of the Declutter Challenge

Of all the areas at home that have proven to be the biggest challenge to organise … it has to be my daughter’s artwork. I love looking at wonderful creations Miss E brings home most days. However, as of a week ago I had no idea how to store or organise the seemingly endless outpouring of creativity. Continue reading

Makeover of a Wood and Cast Iron Bed

Makeover of a Wood and Cast Iron Bed

A while ago I talked about how to distress furniture with sandpaper (here). I used the makeover of our bed as one example of the look that can be achieved. Beginner’s Guide to Spray Painting a Picture Frame

We have a lovely big print in our lounge room, the colours are great and it fits well into the décor.  The only problem is the frame was a little, well … uninspiring, but I knew all it needed was a coat of paint to make it pop! The frame is made of wood, with some lovely detailing and bevelling.
